My stay at the resort was quite disappointing. While the initial impression upon arrival was good, the outdated rooms and unpleasant smells significantly detracted from the experience. The service varied significantly; the breakfast team was excellent, but I felt like an inconvenience when speaking with reception staff about issues in my room. On a positive note, the location was lovely and offered beautiful views, but I would hesitate to recommend this place based on my experience.

The rooms were dated and musty, with noticeable wear and tear. The second room we were moved to was an improvement but still lacked sufficient kitchenware and had maintenance issues.

Staff at breakfast were friendly and attentive, but reception staff made me feel like a nuisance when I raised concerns about the room.
Location
8.0
The location had stunning views and was set in a nice area, which was a highlight of our stay.
Dining

The dining experience was mixed; breakfast was pleasant, but my dinner was unusual as they didn't charge me for a dish they felt was inadequate.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were average, the restaurant offered some nice meal options, but the overall atmosphere of the resort felt outdated.

The resort boasts a stunning location by the ocean, making for breathtaking views and great opportunities for morning strolls. While the dining experience had its highlights, the breakfast options were somewhat lacking. I found the rooms to be outdated and in need of maintenance, which detracted from the overall experience. The facilities are decent, but there's room for improvement, especially in terms of attention to detail.

Rooms

The rooms were quite tired and showed their age, with some discomfort due to an uneven floor and an unsettling smell. They definitely need major updates.

My recent stay at the resort had its ups and downs. The location is stunning with beautiful views, and I found the grounds well-maintained. However, the room I stayed in was disappointing and far from what was pictured online. The dining experience left much to be desired, especially during breakfast. Overall, while I appreciated some aspects of the resort, there are definitely areas needing improvement.

Rooms
5.0
Our room was clean but quite dated and lacking the promised features. It felt more 1980s than luxurious, with worn furnishings and a need for refurbishment.
Service
6.0
The staff were accommodating, but my interactions with the spa were frustrating, as they were not easily accessible and made me feel like an inconvenience.
Location

The resort is beautifully situated along the water, which offers lovely views. I enjoyed relaxing by the fire pit and would have loved to explore more on my next visit.

Dining was a mixed bag. While the restaurant was convenient, breakfast was subpar with limited options and tepid food. However, I did enjoy my dinner and the live entertainment.

The resort has stunning grounds around the Bras d'Or Lakes, providing beautiful scenery that truly reflects the charm of Cape Breton Island. While the rooms are clean and comfortable, they do feel somewhat dated, and a few updates would enhance the experience. The dining at the Lakeside Restaurant was generous and delicious, adding to the overall enjoyment of the stay. However, there were some inconsistencies in the service during busy times which could be improved.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were clean and comfortable, but a bit dated and small, lacking modern decor.
Service

Service was friendly and helpful, although during peak times it felt a bit rushed.
Location

Dining

The resort's facilities included well-maintained landscaping and a small marina area, although there's room for improvement in some areas.

The resort has a lovely location near the water, but the experience itself was a mixed bag. While it offers a nice pool area for families and a charming atmosphere with fire pits, the rooms are dated and the mattresses need urgent attention to ensure comfort. The dining options were limited and left something to be desired. Overall, it has potential but falls short in a few key areas.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were small and dated, with uncomfortable mattresses that really affected our sleep. The cleanliness was sufficient, but the humidity made for a less enjoyable stay.
Service
6.0
Service felt a bit impersonal, as staff seemed to just go through the motions. There was some helpfulness, but it lacked that engaging touch that could elevate the experience.
Location
9.0
The location is gorgeous, right by the water, and it's a quick drive to the village with shops and cafes. You can enjoy relaxing evenings by the lakeside fire pits, which was a highlight.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were quite limited, and unfortunately, the breakfast we had was cold. It didn't have the variety we were hoping for, which was disappointing.
Facilities
7.0
The pool area was a great feature and the adventure center offered some fun activities. However, the overall facilities felt dated and in need of updates.
